Prelaunch draft — not reviewed by counsel

Cook Terms

Last updated October 2026. This draft describes the current preview and may change before launch.

Applying as a cook during the preview does not let you sell food. Publishing, ordering and payouts are not live.

Before you can publish

  • Your application and any local requirements must be approved, and Nearfolk must open in your market.
  • Your profile photo and biography must pass moderation before they become public.
  • Where your market requires permits or certificates, they will need to be reviewed and kept current.

Fees when payments launch

Nearfolk will deduct a 10% cook commission from eligible meal or seat proceeds. Diners will pay a separate 5% service fee. Cooks keep 100% of tips, and no platform fee applies to taxes or tips.

Your responsibilities

  • Describe ingredients and allergens accurately.
  • Follow the food-safety rules that apply where you cook.
  • Keep transactions on Nearfolk — don't share contact details or outside payment instructions.

Versioned documents you accept in your account are listed on the legal documents page, with downloadable copies.
