Prelaunch draft — not reviewed by counsel
Privacy Notice
Last updated October 2026. This draft describes the current preview and may change before launch.
Nearfolk is currently a preview. No orders, payments, reservations or payouts are processed.
What we store
- Account details: your email address, sign-in method and sign-in history.
- Profile details you choose to add: name, approximate city, biography and profile photo.
- Cook application details: cuisines, experience, offering type, status and reviewer notes.
- Records of legal documents you accepted, including version, time and content fingerprint.
- Optional email-update choices, including when you gave or withdrew consent.
- Cook waitlist submissions: name, email, city and what you cook.
- Reports you submit about profile content.
Why we store it
To operate your account, evaluate cook applications, communicate with you about the service, keep legal records and protect the platform and its community.
Who can see it
Profile photos are stored privately. Only you and authorized moderators can see them until a cook profile is approved and public listings launch. Publicly, members appear by first name and last initial unless they choose otherwise. Application materials are visible only to you and reviewers. We do not sell personal information.
Exact addresses
Nearfolk does not collect exact home or venue addresses during the preview. When ordering launches, an exact pickup or hosted-table address will be shared only with a diner at the appropriate confirmed stage.
Your choices
- Edit or remove your profile photo and biography at any time in your account.
- Turn optional email updates on or off at any time.
- Download copies of your accepted legal documents.
Retention periods, data-deletion requests and a privacy contact will be finalized before launch.
Versioned documents you accept in your account are listed on the legal documents page, with downloadable copies.
